Mercury Drops

Posted: March 23, 2011 in Uncategorized

To my last experience …

Like the sun, she shines yet burns from within,

Blossoming joyfully throughout uncertainty…

Revolting against a suffocating reality.

Alas…the outrageous rays were dimmed

By “pimps” of the “lords”;

Glow not she was told,

For thriving is a sin

And passion is taboo:

Be anyone _anything but you

Everything you are will be used against you!

So they babbled with fangs full of delusion.

She wept and then glimmered,

Stood aloof and atop,

Camouflaging the scene with a daunting grin

Bathing herself with unattainable mercury drops!

  1. Simple words but very touching. Took me deep inside her mind and soul.

A perfect description of how so many women feel here in Saudi. Wonderful!

Thanks Sandy…but so sorry to disappoint you! It is not at all about me being a woman…it is more about me being a writer 🙂 It is symbolic and can be interpreted in various ways…I appreciate your interpretation of course…it really can be seen the way you saw it, but it’s not the case 🙂

      Thanks once again!

    MashAllah beautiful..
